1. About this policy
This policy covers the IPTVIO app for Apple TV, the iptvio.ch website and communications with our support team. IPTVIO is a media player: the app provides no IPTV subscription or audiovisual content.
For any questions about your data: support@iptvio.ch.
The legal identity and postal address of the publisher, responsible for processing website and support data, remain to be completed in the legal notice.
2. Data used by the app
You do not need an IPTVIO account to use the app. The following data is processed to provide the features you use:
- Sources and credentials: server addresses, playlists, usernames, passwords and stream links you enter; these enable connections to your services.
- Library and playback: channels, program guides, metadata, favorites, collections, history, watched content and resume positions.
- Profiles and preferences: profile names and avatars, language, display, categories and player settings.
- Optional services: network share credentials, Trakt authorization, installed add-ons and WireGuard VPN configurations.
- Files and cache: images, guide data and compatible videos downloaded at your request.
This information is stored on your device and may be synced to iCloud as described below. Trakt authorization tokens are kept in the device keychain. Your source credentials must not be treated as anonymous data.
3. iCloud sync
iCloud sync requires IPTVIO Pro. The setting is on by default, but no syncing takes place without Pro. With Pro, syncing depends on iCloud availability and your Apple Account, and can be disabled in IPTVIO settings. When Pro expires, syncing stops and your local data is kept. Deleting the iCloud backup remains available without Pro.
Synced data may include profiles, sources and playlists with their login credentials, add-ons, collections, favorites, history and resume positions, and player, interface, guide and network library settings. Sync uses Apple services associated with your account.
Disabling sync stops future exchanges but does not automatically delete data already copied to iCloud. The action Reset iCloud Sync deletes the app's shared backup and disables sync on this device; it keeps local data. Also disable sync on your other devices to prevent them from uploading their data again.
Apple describes its processing in its privacy policy.
4. Connections and third-party services
Connections needed for playback and your chosen features are made from your device. The receiving services obtain your IP address and the data needed for the request, including:
- Playlist, stream and EPG providers: content requests, login information and program listing requests.
- Catalogs and artwork: Cinemeta / Stremio, installed add-ons and image servers, including TMDB, may receive identifiers of requested content and technical connection information.
- Trailers: searching for or playing trailers may contact YouTube or third-party resolution services, including Invidious and Piped instances.
- Trakt, if you connect it: account authorization, movie or episode identifiers, progress and viewing status. Disconnecting in IPTVIO stops the integration; data already sent can also be managed in your Trakt account.
- NAS and SMB: your network server receives the credentials and file requests needed.
- VPN, if configured: your WireGuard provider's server receives tunnel connections. IPTVIO does not provide a VPN service; your provider's processing is part of its own service.
- External player, if selected: the media link, which may contain access credentials, is passed to the selected player.
You can change your sources and connections to these services in the app. Their practices are described in their respective policies, including those ofApple, Trakt, Stremio, TMDB and Google / YouTube.
5. Apple purchases and diagnostics
Pro purchases and restoration are managed by the App Store. IPTVIO uses transaction information and entitlement status provided by Apple to unlock purchased features. The publisher does not receive your payment card number.
Depending on your Apple settings, technical information and diagnostic reports may be processed by Apple and made available to the developer. They help us understand failures. Analytics sharing settings are managed on your device.
6. Website and support
The iptvio.ch website is hosted by Infomaniak. It includes no advertising tools, third-party analytics, data collection forms or application cookies. Fonts and illustrations are served locally.
Providing and protecting the website may involve the host processing technical logs: IP address, date and time, requested resource, request result and browser information. See the Infomaniak policy. Logs and retention periods depend on the hosting configuration.
If you write to support@iptvio.ch, we receive your email address, message content and the attachments you choose to send, to respond and resolve your request. Do not send passwords, playlists containing private credentials or secret VPN configurations.
7. Purposes and basis of processing
Data is processed to run the player, remember your choices, provide the features you use, handle support requests and protect the website. We do not sell your data or use it to build an advertising profile.
The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection applies to processing within its scope. Where the GDPR applies, processing necessary to provide the service is based on contract performance; processing necessary for security and support management on legitimate interests; processing required by law on legal obligations; and processing requiring consent on that consent. You may withdraw consent for the future without affecting earlier lawful processing.
8. Retention and deletion
- On your device: sources and settings are kept until changed or deleted. Delete sources, profiles and downloads from their respective sections. Uninstalling removes the app's local data, subject to backups managed by Apple.
- In iCloud: the copy may remain after uninstalling. Use the iCloud reset described above to remove the app's synced data.
- Cache and videos: tvOS may delete temporary or downloaded files to free up space. Permanent retention is not guaranteed.
- Trakt and other services: disconnect them to stop exchanges; send requests about data they hold directly to those services.
- Support: messages are retained while your request is handled, then for the period needed for follow-up, a potential dispute or a legal obligation. You may request their deletion.
- Purchases: Apple billing history and retention periods are governed by Apple's obligations and policies.
9. Recipients and international transfers
Web hosting is provided by Infomaniak in Switzerland. Apple and third-party services your device connects to may process data in other countries, including the United States for some Apple and Google services. Processing countries for IPTV providers, add-ons, metadata services and VPNs depend on the services you use.
The destination and safeguards applicable to each service should be checked in its terms. For providers engaged by the publisher, transfers requiring particular protection must be covered by safeguards required by applicable law.
Details about email providers, log retention and transfers involving the publisher's providers are being confirmed. This policy will be completed before the app is submitted.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, delivery or transfer, and restriction of processing or object to it. These rights may be subject to legal conditions and exceptions.
Send your request to support@iptvio.ch. We may request information reasonably needed to verify your identity. The publisher cannot remotely view or delete your local data, personal iCloud or third-party accounts.
You can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Switzerland, or the competent supervisory authority in your country where applicable law provides for it.
11. Security, minors and changes
Protect your Apple TV, Apple Account and network access. Use the local configuration interface on a trusted network; do not expose it directly to the Internet. Source connections depend on the protocol provided by the service: an HTTP address does not offer the protections of HTTPS.
IPTVIO does not specifically target children. Responsible adults should check that the sources used are suitable for users' ages.
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app, its providers or applicable rules. The date at the top shows its latest update.
